How to measure your wall for wallpaper
When calculating the price for installation, we need to know the total area of the space. However, just knowing the square footage is not enough when ordering wallpaper.
Let me give you an example. Imagine we have a wall that measures 12 feet by 8 feet, which equals 96 square feet. Additionally, we have two windows, each covering 20 square feet, for a total of 40 square feet. Now, let’s say you choose wallpaper that comes in rolls of 56 square feet each.
At first glance, it might seem like one roll would be enough to cover the wall, which is 96 square feet minus the 40 square feet taken up by the windows. But actually, we need two rolls because the wallpaper has a pattern that needs to match. In this case, we have to make cutouts around the windows, and one roll won’t be sufficient to cover the whole wall.
If you need help figuring out how many rolls to order for your project, please don’t hesitate to contact us.
Rectangle room layout
Total square feet of the room = (A+B+C+D) * H
Example = (12’+10’+12’+10′) * 8 = 352 square feet
